– Which part of the world do you intend to study in? (UK, Aus, NZ = IELTS; Canada, US = TOEFL) While all of these countries now accept both tests to some extent, there will be more college/uni options depending on which test you have taken
– Speaking: if you do better in face-to-face interview situations, IELTS is definitely a better test to be taking
Thanks a lot,
now I’ve got more bright thought about TOEFL and IELTS. I’ll take the Toefl because:
1) I would like going to north America for job, so I need North America accent;
2) For the writing part I prefere TOEFL because I type on computer faster than on paper;
Finally, I think that IELTS is better on speaking and is easier.
Thanks very much! I think it is very interesting and helpful video for all.
Yes I think that IELTS more easier if you know British English and the TOEFL easier if you good at American English. Now I’m preparing both of them and for me IELTS is more easier to understand!
Hello. According to a source, it is possible to substitute the scores of one for the other depending on your part of the world and which exam is available. For instance, a friend of mine got in for a masters degree at a school in UK but she was told that she could/should take the TOEFL. Is that right? She actually had the IELTS option but wasn’t enlightened about which one to take and eventually she was advised to go to the British Council for proper inquiries where she received authentic information.
My question is: Can TOEFL/IELTS scores be substituted for one another?
Is TOEFL compulsory with GRE for an Indian?
HI,
I am an Indian. I have read in an English medium school all my life, all the exams that I ever took were in English (including B.Tech), my mark sheets, certificates everything is in English.
Is it mandatory for me to take TOEFL for pursuing MS in USA?
Thanks.
Before I took the test,i was told that it’s extremely difficult,a friend of mine had the test five times before he made his rite score,after hearing all of this,i was really confused on what to do,if I should forget the test,so I decided to look up to God,i fasted for 25days,prayed for a good score,I prayed that I should take it once and not twice,i prep myself with online tutorials,with the grace of God I went for the test and the result came out successfully,,,thanks be to the almighty GOD,,,,believe in yourself and believe in God,,,he is Able
Great video, and very detailed!
I think the main points to bear in mind are:
– Which part of the world do you intend to study in? (UK, Aus, NZ = IELTS; Canada, US = TOEFL) While all of these countries now accept both tests to some extent, there will be more college/uni options depending on which test you have taken
– Speaking: if you do better in face-to-face interview situations, IELTS is definitely a better test to be taking
Anyway, a very informative video – great stuff!
